"Be Careful with Your Tongue" from James 3

Be Careful with Your Tongue from James 3

One thing about the tongue is that, it is the smallest but the largest trouble maker. And so we must be very careful using our tongue.

Example of encouraging words are when you say thank you, I'm sorry it's my fault please forgive me, but the discouraging words are bad words, accusing the person, any hurtful words that can torn the heart.

Be a model of using words for example many of us must be a teachers, and be a good example in using words.

1 Peter 5:3 Not lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock.

If someone will evaluate what's our primary sin it would be our tongue - because we can easily gossip someone, and we all stumble with our tongue.

Ec 7:20 There is not a righteous man on earth who ends what is right and never sins.

Be careful with your tongue and discipline it. Make yourself humble. Be quick to listen and slow to speak. Even when people gossip about us we shouldn't respond, tongue is like a spark that can cause fire to ruin everything especially with our relationship.

Col 3:8-9 But now you must rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips. Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices

= means not to lie.

If your heart is not right with the Lord unkind words will flow in your tongue.

Don't participate with green jokes; don't be famous in that area. We need to have more of Lord God and less of ourselves.

Be careful with expressions not having sense but just irritating the other person; and saying bad words as expressions.

Have a self confrontation with yourself to the Lord - pray. We need to only use our tongue to Praise God; not to curse man. And don't be like a cobra (see its tongue) it has a split in the middle (like a double tongue) - one side use for praising while the other side use for cursing and gossiping.

Our tongue is exclusively use for God - praising God and encouraging man, use our tongue for the Lord.

Proverbs 21:23 He who guards his mouth and his tongue keeps himself from calamity.
Proverbs 16:24 NIV Pleasant words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.

Pastor's Message
Psalm 26:2 "Test me, O Lord and try of examine my heart and my mind"

We need to check our heart and our mind. We need to examine it every single day. So we'll know where we are at spiritually. Let the Lord search your heart and mind today and allow Him to change it for His glory!

Nice Christian Life Experiences
